Overall, this was an excellent book. Aidy and Ace were at different places in their lives and they were continuously crossing paths. Ace was broody and Aidy was a hopeless romantic and this book proves how much opposites attracts! Additionally, there was some laugh out loud moments and "jaw-dropping" moments. The author of the journal? Man, that gorgeous man has a way with words. It is worth the read.

Heartless Amato Brothers Book 1 eBook Winter Renshaw Reviews

I love finding “new to me” authors, and I will be reading more of Winter Renshaw’s books. HEARTLESS has a terrific cast of characters and a really unique plot that all begins with a personal journal the heroine, Aidy, finds in front of an expensive townhouse, a journal detailing an emotional love affair that ends badly, but with the writer vowing he will always love the woman who left him for another.

When Aidy attempts to return the journal—after reading it—the owner of the townhouse claims absolutely no knowledge of the book. Except, the more Aidy gets to know Ace, a once famous baseball player who had to retire early due to injury, she finds herself drawn to the obviously troubled man, and from things he’s said, she knows he’s the author of the journal. Of course he’s troubled—he loved a woman who left him for someone else, and he'll never love another.

Taking that premise in some truly entertaining directions is the heart of this book, and I quite honestly couldn’t put it down until the absolutely wonderful end. Aidy goes into their slowly developing relationship fully aware that it can go nowhere. Ace doesn’t want to love anyone again the way he loved his one true love, and feels that the best way to keep Aidy is by holding her at arm’s length. Do you see where this is going? Well, I thought I did, too, but Renshaw has an amazingly agile mind, and this story will not disappoint! I definitely recommend HEARTLESS.
This book was offered free by that author so after reading Priceless I would give another Amato brother a chance. The series can be read as stand alone. No major drama and the book stays focused on their relationship. It is currently available through Unlimited

Aidy found a journal on the sidewalk on her way home one day, she picked it up before it got drenched in the rain. After a week she felt bad and went to return it however the owner of the home she left it at said it wasn't his. Alessio "Ace" was a famous baseball player until he had a career ending accident. He also ended a serious relationship the year before so he is very bitter. Aidy and Ace continue to run into each other, each thinking the other is stalking them. She has no clue he is famous. Over time, they begin a relationship and the mystery of the journal is solved. 3.5 Stars
Heartless was a fun read. Aidy and Ace were perfect for each other. Aidy is all positive sunshine and rainbows and Ace was more reserved, more serious and could use Aidy in his life. It was a sweet read.

Aidy lives with her sister and nephew and runs her own business, which is starting to pick up. She found a diary a little while ago in the rain and fully intended to give it back to the owner, but she ends up reading it and can't quite part with it yet. The guy who wrote it loved this girl so much, in a way that Aidy wishes someone would love her. She is kind of obsessed with the diary and its owner, but she knows she eventually needs to give it back. When she goes to return it though she meets Ace and let's just say it didn't go too well. He was not in a good mood, he claimed to have never seen the diary before and just chases her off. She thinks that is the last she will see of him, but fate has other ideas. What do you do when you keep running into the same person again and again?

Ace hasn't had the best of years. He is still a bit messed up from some things that had happened and is trying to figure out what he is going to do with his life. He doesn't really think he is fit to be around people, and the day he first meets Aidy proves that. He makes a lot of mistakes, but he is not a bad person. When he keeps running into Aidy he is intrigued. She is fun and light and carefree - everything he is not. When they start to get to know each other it was fun. I loved Aidy and Ace was just as wonderful. These two were awesome.

Now there was one part towards the end I didn't care for. Aidy was a bit...stupid? She acted like she was a lot younger than she ever seemed and it was just okay. But then the author turned it around and all was right in the world again. This was a new to me author, but I will definitely be reading more.

Heartless is about Ace, a former MLB pitcher and Aidy, a make up artist. He feels he was dealt a bad hand in the Love department as he was left at the alter while his soon to be wife ran off with his best friend. Someone left a journal outside his apartment and Aidy found it in the rain. She picked it up meaning to return it the next day. But then she started reading it. It read like a Love story, a heartbreaking one. When she did go to return it Ace was mad because she was leaving trash outside his door. She told him to F- Off!! A couple days latter she met him again and he accused her of stalking him. Again with the F-Off from Aidy. After all, she didn't know who he was. But her nephew did. They saw him again at a pizza restaurant. When the nephew saw Ace he wanted his autograph, and was encouraged by his Mom and Aunt, who gave him one of her business cards to write on. Needless to say, the nephew didn't get his autograph. Ace felt bad afterwards because he took some of his aggressive attitude out on the boy.
Anyway, the story blends on to where they get together, start to work things out.
There are highs and lows in this story. It made me cry it was so sad in places, but that is what made it such a good book. I believe you should purchase this book, find an out of the way corner, and read it. I was offered this book, for an honest review, and it is definitely worth 5 stars. You did it again Winter
